Bass Lessons

Lessons are available to teach electric bass in rock, jazz, blues, and related styles. Bass students should be at least 12 years of age, and have an equipment budget of about $500 dollars for an instrument, practice amp, case, and accessories. Bass guitars are quite affordable, and the amplifiers are comparatively expensive. It is wise to spend at least as much on the amplifier as on the bass.

Guitar Lessons

Lessons in basic guitar technique, with an emphasis on music theory, are available in classical and popular styles. My guitar playing is primarily acoustic guitar, with electric guitar technique that is more or less devoid of any sort of 'heavy rock', distortion, or high-volume styles. I can read standard notation, tab, and chord charts, and I can teach all these to beginner or intermediate student.

Brass Lessons

I teach low brass at all levels. Brass students should have their own instrument and ample time to practice.
